Bowen Meissen is a dedicated Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) with over 15 years of experience helping individuals navigate substance use disorders and achieve lasting recovery. He is passionate about meeting clients where they are in their recovery journey, providing compassionate, evidence-based care in a supportive and nonjudgmental environment.

Bowen earned an Associate of Science in Human Services from the College of DuPage, a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Bradley University, and an Associate of Science in Business Administration from John Wood Community College. His diverse educational background, combined with years of clinical experience, allows him to connect with clients from a wide range of backgrounds and life experiences.

Throughout his career, Bowen has worked in both outpatient and residential treatment settings. He currently serves as a Clinical Coordinator and Recovery Instructor at Recovery Centers of America, where he facilitates group therapy, provides individual counseling, and leads SMART Recovery groups. Previously, he spent a decade with HealthCare Alternative Systems, providing individual and group substance use counseling, facilitating DUI and Early Intervention groups, and supporting clients through every stage of recovery.

Bowen has received training in the Matrix Model, The Seven Challenges® Program, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), SMART Recovery, and 12-Step recovery principles. His therapeutic approach emphasizes collaboration, accountability, practical coping skills, and empowering clients to build healthier, more fulfilling lives.

At Embrace Counseling Center, Bowen provides individualized care to adolescents and adults experiencing substance use concerns, co-occurring challenges, and recovery-related issues. He believes that recovery is possible for everyone and strives to create a safe, respectful space where clients feel heard, supported, and encouraged every step of the way.
