GROUP THERAPY AT EMBRACE
Sometimes it helps to be in a room with people who get it.
There are things individual therapy can offer that a group can’t- and things that happen in a group that are hard to recreate anywhere else.
Group therapy gives you a chance to hear from people navigating something similar, recognize that some of what you’re experiencing isn’t yours alone, and work through it with the support of a therapist and other group members.
Groups at Embrace Counseling Center are facilitated by our clinicians and designed around specific experiences and needs.
Bereavement Group
Grief can be lonely. It doesn’t have to be private.
Losing someone can change your everyday life in ways other people don’t always see.
Our bereavement group brings together people navigating the loss of a loved one for conversation, support, and space to make sense of what grief looks like for them.
There’s no expectation that everyone grieves the same way- or that you need to be at a particular point in your grief to belong here.
Trauma-Focused Group
A place to understand what you’re carrying.
Trauma can affect how you feel, relate to other people, and move through everyday life long after an experience has ended.
Our trauma-focused group offers a structured setting to better understand those responses, practice grounding and regulation skills, and connect with others who may recognize parts of the experience.
You won’t be expected to share details you aren't ready to discuss. The group is facilitated with attention to pacing, emotional safety, and each participant’s boundaries.
WHAT TO EXPECT
You don’t have to know how to “do” group therapy.
If you’ve never been in a therapy group before, it’s completely reasonable to wonder what you’re signing yourself up for.
Groups are facilitated by an Embrace clinician, and you’ll receive information about the structure, expectations, confidentiality, schedule, cost, and whether the group is a good fit before you begin.
Current group availability may vary throughout the year.
